Sri Aurobindo’s concept of Integral Education focuses on the evolution of the individual, nation and of humanity. It recognises the nation’s soul in man, a part of the divinity wrapped in mind and body. To awaken and ascend the spirit of mankind in this evolutionary process Integral Education creates the environment By bringing perfection into all the five aspects-Mental, Vital, physical, psychic and spiritual of the individual being. Integral education focuses on integral development of personality, which includes all knowledge in its purview. It provides a foundation to learners to understand themselves, the world around them and its relation to engage in a complex and fast changing world. It focuses on self-mastery through self-observation, self-reflection and self -realization. It is not simply holistic education that attempts to create a learning environment where different parts of a learner can be developed like a jigsaw puzzle, but it approaches a learner like a seed growing into a tree, where the aim of the education process is to create a learning environment. This process helps learners in learning about themselves, discovering and recognizing their potential and the learning process draws out knowledge and develops skills which they already possess. Integral Education have scope for the learners to learn, unlearn and relearn.
